Victoria Janssen [she, her] currently writes space opera hopepunk in the A Place of Refuge series and its prequel series Dissenter Rebellion.
She's the author of The Duke and the Pirate Queen (Harlequin Spice, 2010), fantasy erotica including pirates, sharks, and the Island of the Lotus Eaters. It's set in the same universe as her first novel, The Duchess, Her Maid, The Groom and Their Lover (Harlequin Spice, 2008). Her major historical research interest is World War I, which is reflected in some of her fiction. Her second novel, The Moonlight Mistress (Harlequin Spice, 2009), was a finalist for an RT Book Reviews Reviewers' Choice Award, and has a tie-in story with a cross-dressing soldier heroine, "Under Her Uniform.” Janssen’s many short stories have been published in anthologies from Sex in the System: Stories of Erotic Futures, Technological Stimulation, and the Sensual Life of Machines to Periphery: Erotic Lesbian Futures, as well as in several volumes of The Mammoth Book of Best New Erotica.
